Historical Background

Foundation (2002): The hospital was established in late 2002 under the patronage of Mani Mandir Sewa Nyas Samiti, with critical support from Sightsavers International, UK.
Founder: The institution was initiated through the efforts of Late Mrs. Chandramani Devi Rajgarhia, who founded the Mani Mandir Sewa Nyas Samiti in 1993 with a mission to serve the poor and destitute.
Growth: AEH began as a modest 16-bed clinic with a staff of only 10 individuals, including one ophthalmologist. Over 23 years, it has expanded into a comprehensive 100-bed hospital with over 150 staff members and a dedicated team of 10 surgeons.

Clinical Services and Reach

The hospital operates specialized clinics equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical technology (including Phaco machines and Vitrectomy systems). Their primary services include:

Specialty Procedures: Cataract (Phaco & SICS), Glaucoma, Vitreo-retinal surgeries, Squint, Cornea, and Oculoplasty.
Community Outreach: A core part of their operations involves "reaching the unreached" through community outreach programs and support services for remote areas.
Education: The hospital also manages an Institute of Optometry to train the next generation of eye care professionals.
